Ahoy me hearties,
The weather be fine and we’ll be settin'; sail for another voyage of Murphy’s Mutinous Mariners.
Who be brave enough to join the crew and sing to ye heart content the shanties from the sea?
Ye don’t need to be able to sing, we be takin'; on apprentices. Just a thirst for song and a cold brew, is enough to join this crew.
If ye think ye be worthy, more details to be found below decks.

Singing with mens voices is always lovely, the harmony is hard to beat with a bigger choir but often other choirs don't have big mens voices. Singing in this context is relaxed, laid back and it's not serious and overwhelming, so I can just do it on a whim, so that's really nice.

"The Herring Hoarder"

I like singing sea-shanties and then I drive home and I get home and my wife can see how much fun I've been having. It's a lot of fun. Very uncompetitive environment, when you put males together they can be sometimes very competitive, and everybody just supports each other musically and we all just get along.

Calling dads, grandads, uncles and brothers!

Murphy’s Mutinous Mariners is a laid-back singing group for men who enjoy sea shanties, good company, and a drink or two.

Open to all men 18+, from first-timers to seasoned singers - we keep things relaxed and fun.

We meet Thursday evenings each term, rehearsing at Brookfield Music in our purpose-built shed (complete with bar and man cave).

We wrap each season with a performance and party alongside our adult music community.

Bravely did my first song in public, that was great. I really enjoyed myself and I'll be back for the next one.

George

"Black Beard"

I feel really good, excited, it was a very good experience and good time with friends.

Marcio

"Pirata"

Sea Shanties is a good mixing thing for people, gets me out of the house, gets me singing, which I did for 40 years previously and then stopped.
