Layla - Principal

Layla is the Principal of Brookfield Music which she founded in 1996. Her philosophy for students is to develop a lifelong love of music. Students of all ages and abilities are welcome in her studio. Layla loves people and always knew she wanted to be a music teacher.

Layla was awarded a music placement at the University High School in Melbourne. She studied at Queensland Conservatorium of Music and then completed a Bachelor of Education (including special needs education). Layla has worked as a music teacher in Qld and France.

Layla teaches flute, piccolo, clarinet, saxophone, piano, voice, recorder, guitar, ukulele, and special needs. Layla has also studied Psychology, Chinese and Dementia at university. She has also worked as a music therapist and ran a choir for people with dementia for the past four years. 

 In her spare time Layla enjoys speaking French and Chinese, bushwalking, gardening, and mosaicking.
