music tuition — woodwind, piano, guitar, voice, cello
Lessons are conducted in the music studio in Upper Brookfield. You may purchase lessons in blocks of five or ten lessons of either 30 minutes or 1 hour. We have an adult music club where we meet over morning tea once per term. We also arrange group visits to concerts.
Lessons are structured to meet the needs of each individual student. Being an adult student has its advantages—and yes, it is never too late. You know how you learn and what gives you joy when playing music. Together Layla will show you the various different musical styles and help you choose repertoire that you love. Lessons will start building on skills that you already have and new ones will be introduced as you progress.
The goal is to give you skills so that you can teach yourself in the future and have a good foundation for life long learning.
We meet once per term to share life as adult music students.
Our adult music club is going strong — now in its fourth year.
To make music is a dream come true for me ... thanks to Layla I am able to fulfill my dream of playing piano. I have been going to Layla’s school of music for over 11 years now. Firstly with my sons and when they grew I carried on for myself. She is super patient and brilliant with the children and I would, and have, recommended her over and over. She is super, super patient with adults — after all we are a bit slower than the kids when it comes to learning anything new. For a positive and harmonious experience I would recommend no other music teacher than Layla’s school of Music.
I’ve been really enjoying my lessons with Layla. At long last I am learning to play music which I love. Not only that, but now that I understand how scales and exercises help with playing overall, I am finding that I lose all sense of time when I practise. Layla’s input has reignited my enthusiasm for playing the piano.
